The Fifth Commandment
Invocation
Text/Memory
You shall not murder.
What does this mean? We should fear and love God so that we do not hurt or harm our neighbor in his body, but help and support him in every physical need.
Devotional Thought
Thanksgiving
In Psalm 139, the psalmist praises God because he in “fearfully
and wonderfully made.” Have you ever thought about what a miracle you are?
Think about your fingers and toes, the things you can do with them: writing,
throwing, eating, even just waving. Or how about your sense of smell and taste –
amazing, and these can bring us so much pleasure. Or how about your eyes – the way
they translate light into images we can understand. Thank God for our bodies
and His care for them!
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
Blessing
The grace of our Lord + Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Amen.
