September 16 - Evening

Sunday Evening

Good Evening Lord!

Wondrously show Your steadfast love, O Savior of those who seek refuge from their adversaries at Your right hand. Keep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me in the shadow of Your wings, (Ps. 17:7-8 ESV)

Meditation on Worship

Use the I.T.C.P. formula to think about / discuss the worship service.
Instruction:     What did I learn? What were the lessons / sermon about?
Thanksgiving: What am I thankful for?
Confession:     With what sin was I confronted? Was I comforted with God’s forgiveness? How?
Petition:          What did we pray about? Who did we pray for?

Prayer

Pray for the people on Sunday’s Prayer List in the bulletin.
Pray about your own thoughts and requests.

Luther’s Evening Prayer

I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have graciously kept me this day; and I pray that You would forgive my sins where I have done wrong, and graciously keep me this night. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen.
