September 13 - Morning

Thursday Morning – 9/13

Good Morning, Lord!

I am baptized

God saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to His own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit. (Tit. 3:5 ESV)

Make the sign of the cross as you say, “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”

Thank You For A New Day!

Father in Heaven, sometimes getting up in the morning is hard. The bed is comfortable and I don’t really want to get moving. Help me to remember all the blessings You have in store for me today: love in my family, friendship, moments of discovery and learning, joy in using my skills, and so many others. Thank You for this day and for Your blessings. Help me to live as Your child today. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

I Believe …

I believe that I cannot by my own reason or strength believe in Jesus Christ, my Lord, or come to Him; but the Holy Spirit has called me by the Gospel, enlightened me with His gifts, sanctified and kept me in the true faith. In the same way He calls, gathers, enlightens, and sanctifies the whole Christian church on earth, and keeps it with Jesus Christ in the one true faith. In this Christian Church He daily and richly forgives all my sins and the sins of all believers. On the Last Day He will raise me and all the dead, and give eternal life to me and all believers in Christ.
This is most certainly true.

A Bible Reading

Titus 3:5-7 p. 1420

Question for Meditation

What does this reading teach you about Jesus, what He said and did, or what He wants His followers to believe?
What does this reading lead you to be thankful for?
What behavior, thought, or attitude does this reading challenge? What sin does it lead you to confess?
How might you pray for God to have a richer impact on your life through this reading?

Memory Verse

[There is …] one Lord, one faith, one Baptism. – Ephesians 4:5

Prayer

Pray for your parents, family, and friends.

O God, I thank You for my Mom and Dad (and any other parental figures you might have). Please bless them and help them to take good care of me and to raise me to know You and to follow You. Keep their faith in Jesus strong, and help them to be patient toward me. Please bless my sibling(s) (name them). Help me to be a good sister/brother so that I love them and treat them as I should. And I thank You for my friends. Please bless them in their homes. Help them to believe in You, and help me to represent You well to them. And I pray that You would help them to be a good influence on me, and I on them. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Lord’s Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name,
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven;
give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those
who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom
and the power and the glory
forever and ever. Amen.

Benediction

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word. (2 Thess. 2:16-17 ESV)
